Ho cercato di far confluire lo stile futurista con quello di sinestesi, usando il nuovo linguaggio visivo che sto usando per creare (nel tempo libero, visto che pare sia impossibile trovare dei fondi per questo tipo di lavoro) il mio nuovo corto “odysseus-nobody”.

Statement:
Seoul Film Festival accorded me a great honor adopting for this year poster and opening animation a “neo- futurist” style, taking visual inspiration from my short film- motion paint “Futurist Toys” (Giocattoli Futuristi).
What can be really surprising from an European point of view , just watching some pictures of Seoul, is the intricate mixture of technology and tradition, modern and ancient, natural beauty and intricate architecture sharing the same space without an evident differentiation.
This might sound a bit chaotic at first, but I personally think that the human been will step forward only by confronting itself with the multiplicity of cultures living in this world, without really judging too much, specially about “art”, what can be “good” or what can be “bad”, which are concepts who variate in any person.
We will step forward only being able to see the great mixture of the world , learning from anyone and anything, and keeping our culture, and our ideas, always understanding that they are “relatives”, and there’s never an universal truth.
In the poster I wanted to recreate these feelings, feelings of an “anyone” emotional person, walking from a colorful countryside towards the world , watching the modernity and at same time keeping tasting the fragrance of his soul.
And only in this enchanting fairy tale multicultural endeavor can born and reborn every year something like “Seoul Film Festival”.

Short Bio:

Claudio Castelli is a multimedia artist and designer, born in Siena in 1979,Ma graduated at Politechnic of Milan in industrial design, after having a classical high school education, and some international experiences to greece and japan.
He actually lives in Grosseto,he founded his company “Kurage ART” working in many field related to design, from animation to web design, to scenery design, specially for studio’s in Milan, Rome, or abroad, focusing his work on “digital art on commission”, trying to create something always new, a bit distant from “globalized” straight rigid rules of design, thinking that they’re actually made by humans, culture and fashion, so, they will always evolve and change… and being able somewhat to be a little factor of this change is the greatest honour an artist or a designer can have in his life.
He’ s also a painter and a filmmaker (these are actually the things he enjoys more),his works have been selected at over 35 international film-animation-video art festivals, and his goal, at this moment, is to get the necessary founds, calm and tranquillity to be able to produce his new animation project “Odysseus-Nobody”
